The UNH Citizens Police Academy (CPA) is an informational program designed to bring our community members information and demonstrations from campus, county, state and federal law enforcement professionals. Historically, the CPA has attracted students, staff and community members who are interested in a better understanding of the University Police and police work in general. Many of our graduates have gone on to become law enforcement professionals.

UNH Citizen’s Police Academy instructors, who represent a wide variety of law enforcement agencies, bring their education and experience to the program. Past presentations have included a bomb technician, police K-9, homeland security, a visit to the county jail and a certified polygraph examiner.

Enrollment for the Spring 2025 Citizen's Police Academy is not open at this time. When open, it will be announced on the UNH Police social media pages.

The 12 week academy typically runs during the Spring Semester, meeting once per week (not held during spring break) at the UNH Police Department, 18 Waterworks Rd, Durham.

For any questions regarding the Citizen's Police Academy, please contact Sergeant Callum Cochran, or call UNH Police at (603) 862-1427.
